Parco Natura Viva: A Journey into Biodiversity

Parco Natura Viva, located in Bussolengo (VR), is a modern zoological park and conservation center dedicated to endangered species, set within 42 hectares of woodland. Founded in 1969 by Alberto Avesani and Giorgia Zaborra, the park is home to over 1,500 animals from more than 200 species originating from all continents.

Mission and Conservation - Parco Natura Viva focuses on three key areas:

  • Conservation: protection of endangered species through breeding and reintroduction programs, such as those for the European bison, griffon vulture, and northern bald ibis.
  • Research: studies on behavior, welfare, nutrition, and reproduction, with special attention to elusive species.
  • Education: raising public awareness, especially among younger generations, about biodiversity and the importance of protecting the natural environment.
